Celebration of Life Services for David L. Everett will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Jeff Adams officiating. Following the traditional funeral, cremation will take place and a private family inurnment will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery at a later date.

David Lee Everett, 72 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. David was born January 18, 1943 at Holdrege, the sixth of eight children born to Robert and Ethel (Shively) Everett. He received his education from Holdrege Public Schools.

On November 1, 1959, David was united in marriage to JoAnn Moore and two sons were born to this union: Michael and Todd. The family made their home in Holdrege, where David was employed by Consolidated Motor Freight for over 20 years, and he also had a home delivery milk route. Dave was then employed in retail sales at the Holdrege CO-OP hardware store and then Becton-Dickinson for several years prior to his retirement.

Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and playing cards. Word search puzzles and playing Keno were his favorite past-time. Most of all he loved the time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Besides his parents; Dave was preceded in death by three sisters: Sue Carol Everett in infancy, Roberta Senyard, and Donna Ganser and her husband, Charles D. Ganser; two brothers: Roger Everett and Don Everett; sisters-in-law: Janet Faber and Beverly Everett; brother-in-law, Chuck R. Ganser; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Newt and Gertrude Moore; and step mother-in-law, Marie Moore.

Dave leaves to celebrate his life; his wife of 56 years, JoAnn Everett of Holdrege; his two sons: Michael Everett and his wife, Kris of San Antonio, Texas and Todd Everett and his wife, Micheala of Atlanta, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Jamie Everett, Kayme Oelberg and her husband, Cody, Joshua Everett and his wife, Meredeth, Alisha McKay, Danielle Lind and her special friend, Matt Johnson, Shawnee McKay, and Keisha Everett and her special friend, Aaron Francis; eleven great-grandchildren: Jordan Stapp, Addison and Dalton Oelberg, Lauren, Sophia, Andrew David, Dylan and Terran Everett, Ryker McKay, Mattox David Johnson, and Raelynn Richardson; two sisters: Pat Beck and Tami Ekberg and her husband, Steve all of Holdrege; brother, Larry "Butch" Everett of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Bill Faber of Gibbon, Nebraska; sisters-in-law: Judy Ganser of Holdrege and Jackie VonLoh and her husband, John of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7: 30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Dave's honor and will be designated at a later date.
