David F Hoxmeier

A Mass of Christian Burial for David F. Hoxmeier will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orleans, Nebraska with Father Maurice Current as Celebrant.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass.  The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Orleans.

David Francis Hoxmeier, 66 years of age, of Ponca, Nebraska, formerly of Orleans, died on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at The Mulberry at Waverly, Nebraska.  David was born on April 28, 1957, the third of seven children, born to Frank Alois and Margery Louise (Whitehead) Hoxmeier.

He received his education from Orleans Public School and graduated from Orleans High School with the class of 1975.  He pursued higher education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and graduated on July 8, 1983, with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to celebrate his life, include his siblings: Craig Hoxmeier and his wife, Betsy of Orleans; Rebecca Malhoit and her husband, Steven of Lincoln, Nebraska; Karen Matya and her husband, Thomas of DeKalb, Illinois; Janet Dannelly of Lincoln; John Hoxmeier of Burlington, Kentucky; and Kent Hoxmeier and his wife, Genalee of Lincoln; along with 26 nieces and nephews, and 46 great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial has been established in David's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
