David F. Lamia, 61 years of age, of Orleans, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska, following a battle with ALS.
David Frank Lamia was born October 18, 1956 in Atchison, Kansas, to his biological parents George and Melba (Sears) Jones. When he was a young boy, David was adopted by his adopted parents: John and Cleona (Zeek) Lamia. David received his primary education in Wilson, Kansas, and later in years he acquired his GED.
David made his home in several communities in Kansas throughout the years, until moving to Las Cruces, New Mexico, before settling to Orleans in 2013. He was a handyman by trade, and it could often be said that David was a "Jack of All Trades." He was an avid fisherman, and also loved to camp, especially at Glen Elder Lake at the outlet.
He is survived by his four children: Chris Jermark of Alma; Rebecca Matyas and her husband, Jason of Salina, Kansas; Chuck Jermark and his wife, Kristi of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Jennifer McGuin of Beloit, Kansas; seven grandchildren; biological mother, Melba Lyster of Beloit; his siblings: George Jones and his wife, Elizabeth of Tipton, Kansas; Mike McGuin and his wife, Donna of Wichita, Kansas; Micki McGuin of Cawker City, Kansas; Mary Mott of Beloit; Bruce Werner and his wife, Judy of Orleans; Anna Smith of Arizona; Mary Beth Boyle of Atchison, Kansas; and Glenda Buster and her husband, Jim of Atchison; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his adopted parents; and his biological father; David was preceded in death by his three brothers: Dwight Lamia, Charles Samuelson, and Floyd Jones; and one sister, Bernita (Sam) Wolfing.
A private family inurnment will be held in Beloit, Kansas.
A memorial has been established in David's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
