A Memorial Mass for David M. Robertson will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alma, Nebraska with Father Maurice Current officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Saint Leonards Cemetery in Madison, Nebraska.

Rosary will be recited prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alma.

David Marian Robertson, 81 years of age, of Alma, passed away, on January 5, 2025, at Harlan County Health System in Alma. David was born in Norfolk, Nebraska on June 16, 1943, the youngest of three children, born to Paul and Isabel (Roscoe) Robertson. He received his primary education from the Good Cheer District 48 in Madison County rural school and later attended and graduated from Madison High School. He attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and pursued a degree in Agriculture.

Following his education, David returned home to help run the dairy farm for 25 years, he then started filling in at the neighbor's dairy farms so they could take time off.

On October 1, 1966, David was united in marriage to Phyllis Vacha at St. Leonards Catholic Church in Madison, Nebraska, and to this union, four children were born: Dan, Dale, Doug, and Debbie. In 1997 the couple moved to Stamford, Nebraska, and then to Alma. David continued to help area farmers until his retirement.

David enjoyed attending his kids and grandkid's activities, golf, fishing, and carpentry. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

David was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two brothers-in-law, Bill Vacha; and Larry Wagner; and one sister-in-law, Barb Vacha.

David is survived by his wife, Phyllis Robertson of Alma; children: Dan Robertson and his wife, Sheri of Richmond, Texas; Dale Robertson and his wife, Amie of Kansas City, Missouri; Doug Robertson and his wife, Kelli of Ely, Iowa; Debbie Estrada of Kearney, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren: Curtis (Miranda) Robertson, and Courtney (Ethan) Tompkins; Braden, Cole, and Emery Robertson; Chase, Carlie, and Quinn Robertson; Billy Thompson, Lizzy, Adriana, Lucy, and Andrew Estrada; great-grandchildren: Oliver, and Wren Robertson; Lincoln, and Lennon Tompkins; two sisters: Peg Thornton and her husband, Manley of Elk Heart, Indiana; Pat Newlin and her husband, Charlie of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; two brothers-in-law: Ken Vacha and his wife, Mary Anne; Don Vacha; four sisters-in-law: Judy Podliska and her husband, Ken; Gladys Wagner; Linda Rising and her husband, Gerry; Virginia Demmel and her husband, Gary; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

There will be no visitation or memorial book signing. The family is honoring David's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in David's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
