A funeral service for Dean Anderson will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Reverend Kenton Birtell officiating.Military Honors are provided by the Martin-Horn American Legion Post #66 in conjunction with the United States Navy Funeral Honors Team.

Following the traditional service, cremation will take place, and a private family inurnment will occur at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Kenneth "Dean" Anderson, of Holdrege, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Holdrege Memorial Homes surrounded by his loving family. Dean was born on January 12, 1934, in Holdrege, the oldest of four children born to Joe and Winnie Orpha Jeanetta (Jensen) Anderson. He attended Holdrege Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1951.

On December 8, 1955, Dean enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on September 16, 1957.

On January 26, 1958, he was united in marriage to Faye Dianne Meyer at Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege. The union was blessed with three children: Sheryl, Janell, and Kyle. The family made their home in Holdrege where he worked as a carpenter. Dean discovered his love for woodworking early in life. He quickly developed a passion for the fine details of carpentry, particularly the precision and artistry required in finish work and cabinetry. Over the course of 55 years, he built 41 new construction homes and 1,427 additions for area clients, who became like family to him.

Besides his work, Dean was a loving and devoted family man. He enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's games and activities and. Dean built meticulous dollhouses for each of his granddaughters, customizing each one.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Bruce Nelson; great-grandson, Alex Ben Christensen; his brother, Donald Anderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert and Susie Meyer; and sister-in-law, Rose Anderson.

He leaves to celebrate his life; his wife of 66 years, Faye Anderson of Holdrege; two daughters: Sheryl McClymont and her husband, Reed of Holdrege; and Janell Huston and her husband, Jim of Loomis, Nebraska; son, Kyle Anderson and his wife, Ann of Holdrege; eight grandchildren: Stacie (Tyler) Christensen; Kazia Nelson and Travis Nelson; Maddie Nitsch; Macey (Riley) Orozco; Matt (Jessica) Huston; Faith Anderson; Hope Anderson; and Grace Anderson; fourteen great-grandchildren: Eli, Isaac, Jace, and Luke Christensen; Anthony, Kaeli, and Andrew Nelson; Huston, Ike, and Quincy Nitsch; McCrae and Murdock Orozco; Hayes and Jett Huston; sister, Dorothy Urbom and her husband, Merlyn of Holdrege; brother, Dennis Anderson and his wife, Joyce or Tucson, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Marlys Sinsel and her husband, Arden of Minden, Nebraska; and Patty Eastep of Pleasant View, Utah; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members; and many friends.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
