A funeral service for Deanna Ostgren will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Holdrege, Nebraska, with Reverend Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr. officiating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

A private family interment will be held at Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege.

Deanna Pearl (Anderson) Ostgren, 88 years old, of Holdrege, passed away on September 9, 2026, at Holdrege Memorial Homes.  Deanna was born in Holdrege, on October 11, 1937, the eldest of five children, born to Paul B. and Pearl C. (Carlson) Anderson. She received her education and graduated from Holdrege Public Schools, with the class of 1955.  Deanna pursued higher education from Colorado Women's College for one year.

On September 9, 1956, Deanna was united in marriage to James R. "Jim" Ostgren in Holdrege, and this union was blessed with four children:  Danna, Dennis, Donald, and Nancy.  Deanna was employed in Holdrege at the Hamburger Inn, which was owned by her family; Continental Imports; Anderson-Peterson Accounting Firm; Ostgren Construction Company; and the Alley Book Shoppe.  Deanna began helping with the Ostgren Construction Company, as the bookkeeper from 1969 to 1993, when her daughter-in-law, Diane, assumed the position.

Deanna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren over the years, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing games and cards, reading, enjoying a cup of coffee with friends, and playing Pinochle.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Ostgren in 2019; a brother in infancy, Robert Paul Anderson; a sister, Marlene Bennett; a granddaughter, Ashlyn Ostgren Fulk; two great-grandsons:  James Aloysius Ostgren; and William Lawrence Ostgren; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Longshore.

Deanna leaves to celebrate her life, her four children: Danna Wolford and her husband, Steve of Hastings, Nebraska; Dennis Ostgren and his wife, Diane; Don Ostgren and his wife, Wendy; and Nancy Nelson and her husband, Mike all of Holdrege; eight grandchildren: Megan Launchbaugh and her husband, Karl; Neil Wolford and his wife, Whitney; Matt Ostgren and his wife, Katie; Mitch Ostgren and his wife, Erica; Caleb Ostgren and his fiancée, Ms. Taylor Griffith; Dakota Fulk; Maddie Nelson and her fiancé, Brady Smith; and Claire Lange and her husband, Brock; 16 great-grandchildren: Harper and Lennon Launchbaugh; Annie, J.D., and May Ostgren; Julia, Gemma, Dominic, Avila, Luke, and Rose Ostgren; Lillianna and Wells Wolford; Brooklyn Fulk; Tillman Lange; and Orson Smith; a sister:  Paulette Shere; a brother, Arlen (Janet) Anderson; along with many extended relatives.

Memorials in Deanna's honor are kindly suggested to the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, or to the Prairie Home Cemetery.
