Deborah S. Nelson

A Memorial Service for Deborah S. "Deb" (Baugher) Nelson will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Daren Popple, officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege.

Deborah Sue (Baugher) Nelson, 61 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at Kearney Regional Health Center in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born November 15, 1964 at North Platte, Nebraska to Richard Karr "Dick" and Marelyn June (Krull) Baugher. the family lived in North Platte, Nebraska and later moved to Holdrege, where she received her education, graduating from Holdrege High School, with the class of 1984.

She was united in marriage to Carlyle Nelson in Holdrege and they were blessed with a son, Dylan in January of 1998. This marriage later ended in divorce but they remained friends.

Deb lived in Holdrege, where she was employed at various places, including McDonald's and cleaning houses for families. Deb's greatest pride and accomplishment was being a mother to her beloved son, Dylan. The time they shared together brought her immense happiness and fulfillment. Together, they enjoyed watching movies and Husker Sports, and especially loved cooking family meals together.

She was a lifelong member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. Despite the challenges and health struggles over the last several years, Deb remained steadfast in her faith and trust in God.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dick Baugher; grandparents, Vernon and Olive (Karr) Baugher; and Arnold and Pauline (Dill) Krull; step-grandfather, Delayne Dunbar; aunts and uncles: Donna Groshans; and Arlene and Ted Heckman.

She leaves to mourn her passing; her son, Dylan Nelson of Holdrege; mother, Marelyn Baugher of Holdrege; brother, Scott Baugher of Alma, Nebraska; aunt, Connie Johnson and her husband, Charlie of Sutton, Nebraska; uncle, Richard Krull of Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is honoring Deb's wish for cremation. A memorial book signing will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
