Celebration of Life Service for Dee A. Isaacson will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in rural Smithfield, Nebraska with Reverend Tim Glendening officiating. Interment will be held at the Sandstrom Cemetery in Phelps County, Nebraska following the services.
Dee (Meyer) Isaacson, 51 years of age, of rural Loomis, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her home north of Loomis following a courageous battle with cancer. Dee was born September 26, 1964 at Smith Center, Kansas, the eldest of two children born to Delmer and Judith (Kahrs) Meyer. She was baptized in October of 1964 at Christ Lutheran Church in Gaylord, Kansas and confirmed in May of 1979 at the American Lutheran Church in Smith Center.
Dee received her primary education from Gaylord, Kansas through the eighth grade and then graduated from Smith Center High School with the class of 1983. She then pursued higher education at the Bethany College at Lindsborg, Kansas. Following her education, Dee was employed in Manhattan, Kansas, Kansas City, Missouri, and Grand Island, Nebraska.
On May 25, 1996 she was united in marriage to Brian D. Isaacson of rural Elm Creek, Nebraska at the American Lutheran Church in Smith Center. The couple made their home on a farm north of Loomis. To this union twin boys were born: Cooper Evar, who was born at rest and Wyatt Otto. During this period of time, Dee was employed in Kearney, Nebraska and then at The Connection in Holdrege for over ten years. Most recently she loved being a farmwife and focusing her efforts caring for Wyatt.
Dee was an avid reader and loved to garden. Being a homemaker was her calling, as she was an excellent cook, and enjoyed canning and baking. Most of all she loved family reunions and just spending quality time with her entire family. She will be remembered for her kind heart, and contagious personality and smile.
Besides her son, Cooper; Dee was preceded in death by her father, Delmer Meyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Dale and Ella Mae Isaacson; and grandparents: Otto and Ida Meyer and Kenneth and Emily Kahrs.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Brian and son, Wyatt both at home north of Loomis; mother, Judy Nielsen and her husband, Elliott of Minden, Nebraska; brother, Rick Meyer of Dallas, Texas; step-brother, David Nielsen and his wife, Tamy of Minden; two step-sisters: Deanna Appel and her husband, Steve of Blair, Nebraska and Denise Houston and her husband, Jim of Elkhorn, Nebraska and their families; two sisters-in-law: Jane Robison and her husband, Doug of rural Alma, Nebraska and Paula Lynch and her husband, Todd of Olathe, Kansas; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Dee's honor that will establish funds to be divided between her son, Wyatt's education and a fund to support other families affected by cancer.
