Della M Sindt

Funeral Services for Della M. Sindt will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin, Nebraska with Reverend Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Naponee Cemetery at Naponee, Nebraska.

Della Mae Sindt, 85 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Franklin and rural Naponee, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege, Nebraska. She was born August 15, 1931 in Orleans, Nebraska, one of ten children, born to Paul and Annie Laura (Richman) Artz. She attended and graduated from Huntley High School.

On October 16, 1949, she was united in marriage to Bennie Joe Sindt in Huntley, Nebraska and to this union three sons were born: Rex, Jeffrey and Keith. The family made their home on a farm in Franklin County, north of Naponee.

Della enjoyed gardening, baking, and canning, dancing, singing, and playing cards. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Franklin.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeffrey Sindt in 1973; husband, Bennie Joe in 2011; siblings: Alice Evelyn Artz in infancy, Edith Byler and husband, Gordon and Hazel Bennett and her husband, Harold, Delmar "Pete" Artz, Chester Artz and wife, Doris, George Artz and wife, Rita, Lewis Artz and Willard Artz at the age of 14 in 1930; brother-in-law, Don Sindt and wife, Joy; and nephews, Tom and Danny Sindt.

Survivors include: her sons, Rex Sindt and wife, Deb of Holdrege and Keith Sindt and wife, Beth of Reinbeck, Iowa; two granddaughters, Bridgette Ohrt of Holdrege and Katie Sindt of Holdrege; one grandson, Wes Sindt and his wife, Chelsea of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two great-grandchildren: Taylor Ohrt and fiancé, Blake Dunaway and Brody Ohrt, all of Holdrege; sister, Lela Dier and her husband, John of Holdrege; sisters-in-law, Tillie Artz of Lincoln, Nebraska and Barb Artz of Minden, Nebraska; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Della's honor and kindly suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
