A funeral service for Delores M. Rademaker will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Holdrege Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Pastor George Probasco officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.
Delores Margaret Rademaker, 101 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Delores was born in rural Phelps County, Nebraska, on December 21, 1924, the only child born to William and Pearl (Dyer) Griffith. She received her education from Bertrand Public School and graduated from Mascot High School.
On December 23, 1943, Delores Griffith was united in marriage to Alven Rademaker in Phillipsburg, Kansas and to this union six children were born: Joyce, Betty, Barbara, Wesley, Debra, and Bradley. The couple made their home on the farm in Rockfalls Township for 35 years before moving into Holdrege in 1978. Delores loved living in the country on the farm, where she drove the combine and truck for many years.
Delores always had a large garden and beautiful flowers that she spent many hours caring for. She enjoyed playing cards, painting ceramics, and spending time in the social clubs she was a part of. She was a member of Holdrege Methodist Church.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alven in 1999; one daughter, Barbara Schmalz; one granddaughter, Patricia Skinner; and one son-in-law, Dan Nelson; one brother-in-law, Ervin (Georgina) Rademaker; and four sisters-in-law, Mabel (Chuck) Marguerites; Hazel (Frank) Abraham; Dorothy (Clarence) Hopper; and Doris (Bob) Church.
Delores is survived by her children: Joyce Love and her husband, Ed "Ward" of Holdrege; Betty Skinner and her husband, Karl of Logan, Kansas; Wesley Rademaker and his wife, Tami of Holdrege; Debra Kassing and her husband, Mark of Loomis, Nebraska; and Bradley Rademaker and his wife, Heidi of Loomis; one son-in-law, Bill Schmalz of Holdrege; thirteen grandchildren: Royce Love; Derek Skinner; Barton Skinner; Casey Schmalz; Matthew Schmalz; Shannon Bryant; Sean Rademaker; Lexi Spencer; Stephanie (Gary) Jacobsen; Jason (Farren) Nelson; Jordan Nelson (Michael Shepard); Brooke (Colby) Wohlgemuth; Kyle (Paige) Rademaker; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial book signing will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Delores' honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
