Donald William Elliott, Jr., 58 years of age, of Orleans, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at his home in Orleans, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Donald was born on October 14, 1956, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Donald William Elliott, Sr. and Alice E. (Coleman) Elliott.  The family made their home in Akron, Ohio for several years before settling to Kearney, Nebraska, where Don received his primary education.  He then attended high school at Sumner, Nebraska at Sumner High School.

Following his education, Don made his home in Orleans.  He was employed at Allmand Brothers in Holdrege, Nebraska for several years until his health began to decline, which forced him to take an early retirement.

On October 9, 2004, he was united in marriage to Ana Ramos at Gibbon, Nebraska and the couple continued to make their home in Orleans.  They enjoyed fishing together and in early years Don loved to hunt.  Most importantly he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Wanchick.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Ana Elliott of Orleans; his two children:  Elizabeth Elliott of Firth, Nebraska and Brandon Bell and his wife, Jacki of Stanton, Nebraska; two step-children:  Karen Ramos Lima and her husband, Manuel Lima of Lincoln and Veronica Ramos of Greeley, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; four sisters:  Rebecca Wanchick of Denver, Colorado, Rosetta Paulsen and her husband, Doc of Kearney, Nebraska, Alice Smith and her husband, Mike of Hills City, Kansas and Lucy Stonerook of Upland, Nebraska; and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation as the family is honoring Don's wish for cremation.
