Donald Richard Ohlman, 90 years of age, of Orleans, Nebraska, formerly of Alma, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Mary Lanning Health Care in Hastings, Nebraska. Donald was born January 31, 1928 in Buffalo County, Nebraska, near Shelton, Nebraska, one of three children born to Richard H. and Melva M. (Pope) Ohlman.  He received his education from Shelton Public Schools.

Following his education, Donald enlisted into the United States Navy on February 1, 1946.  He serve his country during World War II and was honorably discharged in November of 1950.

Donald owned and operated Ohlman Trucking Company.  He later worked for the City of Alma, for over 20 years and enjoyed his time as the park caretaker.

Donald was preceded in death by; his parents; brother, Clayton; sister, Jean Rima; daughter-in-law, Linda Ohlman; granddaughter, Hailey; and great-granddaughter, Brittany.

A great man leaves behind:  his eight children:  Sandra Luther and husband, Doug of Fremont, Nebraska; Donald A. Ohlman of Amherst, Nebraska; Janice Allen of Omaha, Nebraska; Peggie Ohlman Crawford of Kearney; Richard Ohlman and wife, Justine of Shelton; Shawna Goff and her husband, Buck of Kenesaw, Nebraska; Lisa Ohlman Hauver of Alma; and Melissa Ohlman of Alma; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  We will miss him dearly.

There will be no Memorial Book Signing or visitation.  The family is honoring his wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Donald's honor, and will be designated at a later date.
