Memorial Graveside Services for Donna J. Carlson will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege, Nebraska with Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating.

Donna Jean Carlson, 90 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the Christian Homes Care Community at Holdrege.  Donna was born the third of five children of John and Amelia Hoff on April 5, 1931, in Windsor, Colorado.  She attended grade school and graduated from Timnath (Colorado) High School in 1949 and attended Central Business College in Denver, Colorado.

Donna was married to Neil Holen and settled in Nebraska in 1953.  They had three daughters:  Linda, Carol, and Teresa.  They later divorced and on January 10, 1961, Donna married Sam Carlson and he adopted her daughters as his own.

Donna worked for Holdrege Seed and Farm Supply for 44 years and continued to work for Marv Wescott part-time following her retirement.  In her later years, Donna enjoyed cruising and went on several cruises with her husband, and daughter and her family.

She was preceded in death by; her parents; three brothers:  Ron Hoff; Elmer Hoff; Jim Hoff; one sister, Betty Schwartz; two brothers-in-law:  Rueben Schwartz; and Clinton (Lorraine) Carlson; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Carlson; and Virginia Johnson; a nephew, Ron Carlson; a niece, Beverly Carlson; her husband, Sam Carlson on March 14, 2011; two daughters: Carol Holcomb on April 24, 2009; and Linda Cason on January 27, 2013; and son-in-law, Charlie Holcomb.

Donna leaves to celebrate her life: her daughter, Teresa Archer of Holdrege; eight grandchildren: Christie Leigh Pujado and her significant other, Matt of Key West, Florida; Shandra Garcia and her husband, Eloy of Caldwell, Idaho; Heather Behrendt and her husband, Eric of Holdrege; Chelsea Gengenbach and her husband, Anthony of rural Eustis, Nebraska; Branda Archer and her fiancé, Colten of Holdrege; Barrett Belmudz of Caldwell, Idaho; ten great-grandchildren: Alexandria, Seriana, Jesse, Jr., Christopher, Lilee, Harmony, Samuel, Jayden, Allison, and Logan; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

There will be no visitation or viewing.  The family has honored her wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Donna's honor and kindly suggested to the charity of choice.
