Donna M. Crooker

A visitation and a time of fellowship for Donna M. Crooker will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska. Following the traditional visitation, cremation will take place and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Donna Mae Crooker, 48 years of age, of Ragan, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, following a courageous battle with cancer. Donna was born January 5, 1967 at Lebanon, Missouri, the second of four children to Teddy and Judy (Murrell) Burgess. Donna received her education from Lebanon Public School, graduating from Lebanon High School with the class of 1984. Following her education, Donna was employed by the H.D. Lee Company in Lebanon for the next thirteen years. While working at Lee, Donna began to pursue her passion of nursing and attended the Ozark Technical College in Lebanon, graduating with her LPN degree.

Donna was then employed by Christian Health Care in Lebanon until moving to Ragan, Nebraska in 2011. After moving to Ragan, Donna was employed by Holdrege Memorial Homes until her health began to fail. On February 17, 2015 she was united in marriage to Randy D. Crooker and this union truly represented to both of them, "the love of their lives."

Donna was all about being in the outdoors, she had a special place in her heart for animals, enjoyed flowers, and most of all her children meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Luttrell in infancy; her mother, Judy Burgess; and her grandparents.

Donna leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Randy Crooker of Ragan; her father, Ted Burgess of Lebanon; mother-in-law, Myrtle Crooker of Holdrege; her six children: Amber Martin, Shadow Martin, Joshua Martin, Ethen Brown, MaKenzie Brown, and Adisyn Bruce; two step-children: Matthew Crooker and his wife, Aleece of Ragan, and Sondra Weaver of Holdrege; six grandchildren: Trey, Tegan, Cloey, Ryker, Samantha and Coralline; four brothers: Randy Crall and his fiancé, Chris Wood of Lebanon, Eddie Luttrell and his wife, Brenda of Lebanon, Brad Burgess of Lebanon, and Scott Burgess and his wife, Cindy of Chicago, Illinois; three brothers-in-law: Virgil Crooker and his wife, Phyllis of Dunning, Nebraska, Charlie Smith of Kearney, Nebraska, and Tim Smith and his wife, Brenda of Ragan; sister-in-law, Mae Ellis of Holbrook, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Donna's honor and will be designated at a later date.
