Funeral Services for Donna J. Dietz will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Alma, Nebraska with Pastor Sarah Shanks officiating. Burial will follow at the Orleans Cemetery, at Orleans, Nebraska.
Donna Jean Dietz, 85 years of age, of Alma, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, Nebraska. Donna was born August 28, 1932 in Minneapolis, Kansas the youngest of three children born to Victor and Florence (Becker) Muller. Donna was baptized as a child and later attended and graduated from Minneapolis High School, with the class of 1948.
On August 2, 1950, Donna united in marriage to Robert Leo Dietz by Pastor Kenneth Baker, at the United Missionary Church in Franklin, Nebraska. The couple lived with Robert's parents until his induction into the United States Army on September 19, 1950. They lived for a short time in Manitou Springs, Colorado until moving to Orleans. To this union five children were born: Robert Keith, Carol Ann, Jerald Ray, Monte Lou, who died shortly after birth in January of 1955, and Michelle Renee. In 1961, the family moved to Alma, where they have lived since.
Donna enjoyed celebrating holidays with the family, as everyone was together. She appreciated having her children close. She attended Peace Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Phillip and Margaret (Pyell) Dietz; her husband Robert L. in 2009; her brother, Bud Muller and his wife, Dorothy; and sister, Margaret Muller.
Donna leaves to celebrate her life; her children: Robert "Bob" Dietz and his wife, Beth of Alma; Carol Malcom and her husband, Terry of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jerry Dietz and his wife, Janet of Alma; and Michelle Caspersen and her husband, Craig of Boelus, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.
A memorial has been established in Donna's honor and kindly suggested to Peace Lutheran Church, to be designated specifically at a later time.
