A Celebration of Life Open House for Donna L. Mayo will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at her home:  1133 Decker Street, Ragan, Nebraska 68969.

Donna L. Mayo, 71 years of age, of Ragan, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Donna was born on March 14, 1955, the fifth of ten children, born to John and Shirley (Vincent) DenHartog Jager.  She attended Gettysburg Public School in Gettysburg, South Dakota, and graduated with the class of 1973.

On August 12, 1983, Donna was united in marriage to Walter "Lonnie" Mayo in Kearney.  The couple was blessed with four children:  Hope, Lisa, Jim, and Sheri.  Donna worked at Area Agency on Aging in Kearney, Nebraska, for 38 years, retiring as the Assistant Director.

Donna enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, side by side rides, cheering on Husker Football, and spending time with her family.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Lonnie Mayo of Ragan; their four children: Hope Nielsen and her husband Chad of Kearney, Nebraska; Lisa Bailey-Mayo of Axtell, Nebraska; Jim Mayo and his wife, Shelly of Valparaiso, Nebraska; and Sheri Rupe and husband, Chad of Ragan; 10 grandchildren:  Cody (Cristilina) Nielsen; Peanut (Tray) Miller; Dustin Langenberg; Michael (Tara) Langenberg; Holly (Dylan) Snyder; Lyndsie Mayo; Lyshelle (Dave) Jisa; Lyssa (Chris) Tvrdy; Carlie (Bryce) Tobiassen; and Kayla Rupe; 18 great-grandchildren;

her siblings:  Gloria (Krout) Schmidt of Spearfish, South Dakota; Kate DeNoma of Rapid City, South Dakota; Dixie Ayers of Kearney; Mary Ford of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Wanda (Don) Myers of Kearney; Mike (Cindy) Jager of Tolstoy, South Dakota; Vicky (Ray) Hunnel of Gettysburg, South Dakota; and Connie Jager of Rapid City, South Dakota; sister-in-law: Patty Jager of Rapid City, South Dakota; and brother-in-law, Terry (Linda) Mayo of Ragan; and a large number of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Chuck Jager; a niece; and a nephew; along with many in-laws.

A memorial has been established in Donna's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for future designation.
