She received her education at Cambridge, Nebraska. It was while she was in Cambridge when she met the love of her life, Jerry Dale Mayo. The couple were united in marriage on August 28, 1961, in Oberlin, Kansas. This marriage was blessed with three daughters: Brenda, Ronda, and Tonya.      Donna and Jerry started their lives together in Red Cloud, Nebraska, where Donna focused her efforts on raising their daughters. They then moved to Miller, Nebraska, where she was employed by Western Alfalfa at Darr, Nebraska. The family then moved to Overton, where Donna worked at the Overton Hay Mill until owning and operating, Donna's Café for 17 years. Donna and Jerry then drove truck and hauled grain throughout Nebraska until their retirement. On January 4, 2013, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jerry.      She also loved her pet bulldogs that went everywhere with the family. Donna took great pride in her grandchildren. She will be remembered as an excellent cook, enjoyed playing Bingo; and loved crocheting Afghans for her daughters and grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Cleo Bailey.      Donna is survived by her three daughters: Brenda Mayo of Loomis, Ronda Childers and her special friend, Jimmy Nelson of Loomis, and Tonya Mayo of Bertrand; her mother, Dorothy Tumbleson of Cambridge; two sisters: Patsy Kelly and her husband, Gayle of Cambridge and Debra Holste and her husband, Robert of Holdrege; one brother, Christopher Bailey and his wife, Lisa of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.      There will be no visitation, the family has chosen cremation.
