Family Graveside Services for Dora Ann Hull were conducted on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from the Naponee Cemetery at Naponee, Nebraska with Mr. Bob Petersen presiding.
Dora Ann Hull, 83 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma. Dora was born September 9, 1930 on the family farm in Johnson County, Nebraska, the only child born to Allen and Magdaline (Goracke) Peschel. She received her education from Naponee, graduating from Naponee High School with the class of 1948. She then pursued higher education at the Kearney State Teacher's College.
On December 2, 1948, Dora Ann was united in marriage to Quinton Harold Hull at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in in Alma. To this union four daughters were born: Zonna Mae, Kay Lynne, Marilyn Dee and Audrey Jean. Dora Ann focused her efforts on being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Dora and Quinton began to make their home in Naponee until 1961 when they moved to Arcadia, Nebraska. They moved to Dannebrog, Nebraska in 1963, and settled back to Alma in 1966. Quinton and Dora Ann resided the remainder of their married life in Alma.
Dora Ann was a member of the First Christian Church in Alma, a member of the Fay Cady American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed many friendship bonds in the Justa Extension Club. Her hobbies included sewing and craft projects. Her family will remember her cinnamon rolls and fried chicken. Dora Ann loved attending auctions and would hit the brake for all garage sales. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her infant daughter, Marilyn, Dora was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Quinton in 2010.
She leaves to mourn her passing her three daughters: Zonna Petersen and her husband, Bob of Dannebrog, Kay Hannah and her husband, Donald of Paradise Valley, Arizona, and Audrey Christensen and her husband, Kirk of rural Alma; eight grandchildren: David Petersen and his wife, Shawna of Peoria, Arizona, Dana Petersen and her husband, David Evertson of Laramie, Wyoming, Stacey Swanberg of Scottsdale, Arizona, Quinton Swanberg of Omaha, Nebraska, Eric Christensen of Alma, Heather Webster and her husband, Jason of Perry, Kansas, Trent Christensen of Kearney and Mitchell Christensen of Alma; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Marvin Halbert of Mesa, Arizona; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Dora's honor and kindly suggested to the Alma EMT's.
