Doris Mae Leff, 94 years of age, of Rockford, Illinois (formerly of Holdrege) passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Fairhaven Retirement Center in Rockford. Doris was born on August 23, 1919, at Florence, South Dakota, the youngest of three children born to Alvah R. and Alice (Martin) Robison. She received her primary education in Florence, South Dakota and graduated from the Clinton, Minnesota High School with the class of 1937. It was during these years, that she saw her need of a Savior and gave her life to Jesus Christ. After high school, she attended and graduated from Northwestern Bible College with a B.S. degree in Christian Education in 1942.

On August 24, 1941, she married Donald W. Leff and to this union two children were born: Sharon and Stann. Doris was a loving and devoted wife and mother. After finishing Bible College, she served with Donald in three Nebraska churches of the Evangelical Free Church in Wilcox, Oakland, and Hordville. They moved to Holdrege, Nebraska in 1956, when Donald became the Superintendent for the Evangelical Free Church Midwest District. During this time, Doris worked as a nurse's aide at Christian Homes and Methodist Memorial Homes. Following this, Donald became involved with Christian Services, which specialized in retirement and nursing homes. In 1966, the couple moved to Lincoln, where Donald served as administrator and chaplain at Eastmont Towers. Doris served with him in the office.

In 1970, they were called to Denver, Colorado, where they served at Sunny Acres Retirement Home. From 1974 to 1979 they worked together in administration at Northfield Villa Retirement Community in Gering, Nebraska.

In the fall of 1979, they returned to Holdrege to "retire." Donald again was called on to be administrator of Christian Homes for two years. Following this, Donald joined the staff of Trinity Church as visitation pastor. Doris served with him until his retirement. In 1999 they marked 56 years of ministry together. During this time Doris served on the Trinity Women's Ministry Board and the Evangelical Free Church National Women's Ministry Board.

In April of 2005, Donald and Doris moved to Batavia, Illinois to be near family. After the death of Donald in 2011, Doris moved to Fairhaven Retirement Center in Rockford to be near her daughter, Sharon.

Donald and Doris loved to travel and took trips to most states in the USA with family and friends. They also traveled to Rome, the Holy Land, Egypt, Sweden, and Norway. Doris loved time with family, playing Dominoes, word searches, and bingo. She also loved homemaking.
