Funeral Services for Dorothy M. Beachler will be conducted from the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. with the Pastor Nora Mendyk, officiating. Interment will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.
Dorothy Mae Beachler, 87 years of age of Holdrege (formerly of Funk, Nebraska), passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. She was born on February 6, 1930 at Fairbury, Nebraska, the second of four children, and the youngest of a set of twins born to Ray and Clara (Zeinberg) Linderman. She received her education at Fairbury, where she graduated from Fairbury High School with the class of 1947.
On September 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to Duane Beachler and to this union three children were born: Sandra, Diane and Gary. The family made their home at Reynolds, Nebraska until moving to Enders, Nebraska, where they resided for a year. In 1960, the family settled to Holdrege, where Dorothy worked to make a home for Duane and the children. In 1970, Dorothy was employed in the housekeeping department at the Brewster Hospital. After Brewster Hospital closed, she was employed by Christian Homes. In 1980, she and Duane moved to Funk, and purchased Beachler Implement, where Dorothy worked as the bookkeeper for their business.
Dorothy loved spending time with her family, and taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and making special memories with her grandchildren and family. Duane preceded her in death on January 25, 2010.
Besides her parents and husband, Duane, she was preceded in death by: her son, Gary Beachler; daughter, Diane Gange and her husband, Donald; great-grandson, Trae Allen Gange-Wigget; her twin brother, Donald Linderman and; brothers-in-law: Ed Steffens and George Kenning.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her daughter, Sandy Beachler of Funk; four grandchildren: Derek Gange of Holdrege, Donielle Hopkins of Funk, Karla Beachler of Holdrege and Jayme Beachler of Scottsdale, Arizona; five great-grandchildren: Alex Beachler; Tristyn, Taylor and Ashlynn Steele; and Steven Hopkins; one sister, Ruth Steffens of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, Jim Linderman and his wife, Marlene of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Janis Kenning of Fairbury; brother-in-law, Roscoe Beachler and his wife, Marcella of Fairbury; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established in Dorothy's memory, and will be designated at a later date.
