Memorial Services for Dorothy J. (Hampton) Hanson will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Thompson, officiating. Private family inurnment will be in the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge, Nebraska.

Dorothy Jean (Hampton) Hanson, 45 years of age, of Loomis, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at her home in Loomis. Dorothy was born March 28, 1963 in Cambridge, the second of five children of Odean Sylvester Hampton Sr. and Connie Jean (Rauch) Hampton. She received her education at Cambridge, graduating from Cambridge High School with the class of 1982. Following her education, Dorothy received training as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Nebraska and California, and was employed in homecare and nursing homes in Franklin, Ravenna, and Kearney, Nebraska. In 2003, she moved to Loomis where she made her home until her passing.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, embroidery, baking, reading, visiting neighbors and caring for her cat, Sugar. She also loved to baby-sit her nieces and nephews.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three brothers: Lonnie Hampton and his wife, Lesa of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Rockey Hampton and his wife, Cari of Cambridge, Clayton Hampton, Sr. and his wife, Allyn of Holdrege; and one sister, Bessie Luben of Cozad, Nebraska; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Dorothy's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
