Dorothy Marie Westover, 90 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska, passed away, on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society – Colonial Villa in Alma. Dorothy was born on April 18, 1934, in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin, the eighth of nine children, born to Paul and Bernice (Baumhardt) Hoffman. She received her primary education from Kewaskum County School in Wisconsin, and graduated from Kewaskum High School, with the class of 1952.

On May 14, 1955, she was united in marriage to Alton Lee Westover in Campbellsport, Wisconsin, and to this union, 4 children were born: Kathy Ann, Jo Ann Karen Marie, Janet Lee, and Lee Alton. The family made their home in the Denver, Colorado area. In 2005, Alton and Dorthy moved to Alma for retirement. Dorthy loved to quilt while Alton was out fishing. Alton was the love of her life. Together they enjoyed the casinos in Blackhawk, Colorado, and watching western movies. Dorothy's true joy was her family. She loved baking their favorite desserts, sewing clothes, and making quilts for them. She was a member of the Quilters Guild.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Paul Hoffman, Jr.; and Donald Lee Hoffman; sisters: Loretta Bernice Hoffman; Betty Jane Giese; Violet Louise Zimmerman; Doris Mae Wesenberg; Shirley Ann Atkins; and one grandson, Jonathan Shelby Gibson.

Those left to cherish her life include: her husband of 69 years, Alton Westover of Alma; her sister, Alice Hoffman of Prescott, Arizona; her four children: Kathy Ann Westover (Scott Morrow) of Laramie, Wyoming; Jo Ann Karen Marie Lake and her husband, Mike of Vine Grove, Kentucky; Janet Lee Westover of Vine Grove; and Lee Alton Westover and his wife, SuAnna of Thornton, Colorado; four grandchildren: Kristopher Lee Bryant; James Gentry Gibson; Kayla Westover; and Katie Cochran; three step-grandchildren: Marlana Lee Montgomery; Sonja Marie Lake; and David Michael Lake; eight great-grandchildren: Taiya Bryant; Mya Bryant; MaKaylin Gibson; Alexander Gibson; Lincoln Gibson; Shelby Gibson; Hannah Leigh Conover; and Ella Cochran; five step-great-grandchildren: Alana Montgomery; Annabelle Montgomery; Aubrey Montgomery; Ryan Montgomery; and Charlotte Clines; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A grateful appreciation to the Good Samaritan Society - Colonial Villa Staff in Alma for their personal care and love, and to AseraCare Hospice for their tender loving care and support.

Per Dorothy's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. The family is honoring her wish for cremation.
