A Graveside Memorial Mass with Military Honors for Douglas W. Davidson will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, Nebraska, with Father Jay Buhman as Celebrant. There will be a Reception in Doug's honor following the service at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites.

Douglas Wilbur "Doug" Davidson, 78 years of age, of Hudson, Colorado, formerly of Holdrege, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, Colorado, surrounded by his family.  Doug was born on December 3, 1946, in Holdrege, the second of four children born to Wilbur W. and Irene (Petersen) Davidson.  He was raised on a farm south east of Holdrege. Doug attended District 56 and R-7 grade schools, and then graduated from Holdrege High School, with the class of 1966.

On December 15, 1965, Doug enlisted into the United States Navy at Treasure Island, San Franciso, California, U.S. Naval Station.  He served aboard the USS Hancock CVA-19, during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.

Following his discharge, Doug began working for Kansas Nebraska Gas Company before moving to Colorado in 1971. Doug completed an apprenticeship program as a Neon Signman for the Electrical Sign Industry. Doug finished his working career as a Maintenance Engineer for Denver High Rise buildings and Hotels until his retirement in 2010. Doug lived in Northglenn, CO until 2024 when he moved to Hudson, CO. Doug always liked to be active in the community in his younger years. He and was a certified paramedic for the Northglenn Ambulance, active life member with the VFW, and frequent active member of the American Legion Post 22 in Northglenn.

Doug most enjoyed his Best Friend's and fur babies Patches, Walker (16 years), and little Snoopy (9 years) his service dogs. Doug enjoyed his life with friends and family, he was always ready for a good joke and some laughter. Doug's mother was so important to him along with his sister and brother-in-law. Doug, Randy and sister "Mars" did so much together at their cabin (that they built) north of Craig. They called themselves the "Three Musketeer's", 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting and just too many stories to tell.

Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents: Martin and Nettie Davidson and Herman and Emma Petersen; father, Wilbur Davidson; mother, Irene Davidson; infant brother, Willis Dean Davidson; and sister-in-law, Brigid Davidson.

Doug is survived by his sister, Marlene "Mars" Aldrich and her husband, Randy of Hudson, CO; brother, Ray Davidson of Montgomery, TX; nephew, Brad Davidson (Venus) of Houston, TX; great-nephew, Preston Davidson (Maddie, Emelia & Easton) of Houston, TX; great-niece Morgan Davidson of Ft. Collins, CO; nephew, Greg Davidson (Jennifer) of Columbus, NE; nephew, Jeffrey Aldrich (Regina) of Hudson, CO; great-nephew, Keegan Aldrich (Tess) of Northglenn, CO; great-nephew, Taiven Aldrich (Ashly & little Aster) of Tomball, TX; great-niece, Xaeley Aldrich (Cormac) of Arvada, CO; nephew, Kevin Aldrich (Toni); and great-niece, Adelyn Aldrich all of Ft. Collins, CO; and aunt, LaDonna (Max) Weismann of Holdrege; along with other family and friends.

There will not be a visitation, viewing, or memorial book signing.  He has been cremated.
