Douglas D Hansen

A private inurnment for Douglas D. Hansen will be held at the Wilcox Cemetery, Wilcox, Nebraska, at a later date.

Douglas Dean "Doug" Hansen, 72 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Wilcox, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Holdrege Memorial Homes, following a short stay in the hospital. Doug was born in McCook, Nebraska, the youngest of four children born to Elmer and Pearl (Whitesell) Hansen.  He worked as a newspaper delivery driver for the Omaha World Herald, Kearney HUB, and the Holdrege Daily Citizen.  He was blessed with a daughter, Gwendalynn.

Doug enjoyed watching and was a fan of the Houston Rockets and the Texas Longhorns, and loved a good Snickers candy bar.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Delmer Hanson; and Darrell Hansen; and sister, Lois McBee.

Left to treasure his memory: his daughter, Gwendalynn Clay and her husband, David of Angleton, Texas; longtime friend, Kimberly Moore of Holdrege; three grandchildren: Justis, Bradley, and Trinity; other relatives and many friends.

There will not be a visitation or memorial book signing, the family is honoring Doug's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Doug's honor and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
