A Funeral Service for Duane Davison will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church in rural Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Todd Marcy officiating. Interment will follow at the Moses Hill Cemetery in Phelps County, Nebraska, with Military Honors provided by the Martin-Horn American Legion Post #66 in conjunction with the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.

Duane S. Davison, 91 years of age, of rural Funk, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, surrounded by his family, at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Duane was born on November 16, 1929, in Buffalo County, Nebraska, near Kearney, the eldest of three children, born to Sheridan and Lottie (Clark) Davison. The family lived in Kearney until 1945, when they moved to a farm north of Holdrege. He graduated with the Holdrege High School class of 1947. Following his education, Duane engaged in farming with his father until he was drafted into the United States Army as a Quartermaster Supply Specialist. He served his country until his honorable discharge on May 2, 1956.
On June 12, 1956, Duane was united in marriage to Beverly Reed at the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church. God blessed this union with four children: Scott, Debra, Linda, and Heidi. The family made their home on a farm north of Funk, where Duane engaged in farming until his retirement in 1995.
Duane was a member of the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church, where he served in various positions. He received Christ as his personal Savior, as a child in 1939, under the ministry of Rev. Clocksin. He was baptized following his conversion in 1939.
Duane enjoyed farming, driving his horse and buggy in parades, gardening, fishing, and also liked to restore old tractors. His greatest enjoyments were his grandchildren; attending their activities and playing games with them. He and Beverly enjoyed traveling in their RV and attending church activities, the most important thing in life was his relationship with his Lord.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerry Lee Davison; one sister, Zola Johnson and her husband, Paul (Bud); brothers-in-law, Doran Reed and his wife, Maxine; Bruce Reed and his wife, Beth; Ken Allen; and Vernon Carlson; and grandson, Doug Davison in 2015.
Duane is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Beverly Davison of rural Funk; four children: Scott Davison and his wife, Linda of Grand Island, Nebraska; Debra Tallman and her husband, Vernon of Stromsburg, Nebraska; Linda Nelson and her husband, Rex of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Heidi Wells and her husband, Mark of rural Holdrege; eight grandchildren: Angela (Davison) Olson and her husband, Jake; Tyler Tallman and his wife, Megan; Travis Tallman and his wife, Michaela; Ashley (Davison) Mueller and her husband, Brad; Jordan (Wells) Kuipers and her husband, Wendell; Jamie (Wells) Petersen and her husband, Austin; Taylor Nelson; and Makenzie Wells; 12 great-grandchildren: Addison and Eli Olson; Maddix and Jaxson Mueller; Hudson Davison (Doug's son); Pierson and Genevieve Tallman; Lillian, Allison, Jonathan, and Katherine Tallman; Owen Petersen; and one more on the way; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie of Brighton, Colorado; and Dora Lee Carlson of Holdrege; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 pm. to 7:30 p.m.
