Edward Lee Phillips

Edward Lee “Ed” Phillips, 67 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Wilcox, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Christian Homes Care Community, at Holdrege. Ed was born in Henderson, Nevada on September 4, 1958, the eldest of three children, born to Raymond and Montez (Lasiter) Phillips.

Ed received his high school education in Henderson, Nevada.

On January 4, 2006, Ed was united in marriage to Ethel M. (Babcock) Philby in Kearney, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Wilcox.

In his free time, Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, road trips and family get togethers. Ed worked at Marshall Engines in Kearney, until suffering a stroke.

He will be remembered for his directness, raw humor, and his strong will.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Phillips; and Montez Lasiter.

Ed is survived by his wife, Ethel Philby-Phillips of Holdrege; their children: Tim Philby; John Philby; Mindie Phillips; Shawn Phillps; Ray Phillips; and Rose Phillips; four grandchildren: Zane Phillips; Jasper Phillips; Dakota Phillips; and Kira Phillips; his sister, Raylene (Redden) Phillips-Herd; his brother, Carl Phillips; along with his nieces and nephews: April Hicks; Terri Burgess; Keith Herd; Jeremy Herd; Kristy Phillips; and Stefanie Turner.
