Funeral Services for Eileen E. Fouts will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Community Church in Wilcox, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Pletcher and Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilcox Cemetery at Wilcox, Nebraska.
The Earthly Lamp of the Lord for Eileen Elizabeth Fouts, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Wilcox, faded out on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege, surrounded by her family. Eileen was born August 11, 1924, southeast of Wilcox, in Franklin County, Nebraska, the third of five children born to Clarence and Selma (Lippstreu) Lienemann. She attended Ash Grove Rural School District #22 for three years then attended Pleasant View School District #36 and graduated from Wilcox High School with the class of 1941. She pursued higher education from Kearney State College. Eileen taught at rural schools including: the Sindt School, north of Naponee, Nebraska and Ash Grove School and also at Franklin Public Schools in Franklin.
She began dating Kenneth Fouts in December of 1946 after he returned from the service. On June 6, 1948, Eileen and Kenneth were united in marriage at the Presbyterian Church in Holdrege. The couple made their home on a farm near Wilcox and were blessed with four children: Jeanie, Alan, Don and Marcia. Eileen worked as a rural mail carrier until her retirement.
Eileen was a member of the Pleasant View Church and the Community Church in Wilcox. Eileen furthered her education later in life and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education and later her Master's Degree.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Edna; husband, Kenneth in 1975; brother, Howard Lienemann and wife, Adella; brother-in-law, Robert Adam; and great-grandson, Kale Soneson.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her children: Jeanie Garner and husband, Allen of Estes Park, Colorado, Alan Fouts and wife, Becky of rural Elm Creek, Nebraska, Don Fouts and wife, Sidney of Cambridge, Nebraska and Marcia Soneson and husband, Mike of rural Holdrege; nine grandchildren: Dusty Maul and husband, Tim, Morgan Fouts and wife, Tara, Gwen Journey and husband, Dale, Jessie Olesen and husband, Drew, Josiah Fouts and wife, Michelle, Brent Soneson and wife, Abbie, Heather McQuillan and husband, Chris, Brooke Wheeler and husband, Greg and Ethan Soneson and wife, Kaylie; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Adam of Christian Homes in Holdrege; brother, Dean Lienemann and wife, Dixie of Omaha, Nebraska; along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Eileen's honor and kindly suggested to the Community Church in Wilcox or Gideon's International.
