Elda "Susie" Rager

Celebration of Life Services for Elda E. "Susie" Rager will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr., officiating. Interment will be held in the Industry Cemetery near Atlanta, Nebraska, following the services.

Elda Eileen "Susie" Rager, 89 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. Susie was born November 23, 1928 on the family farm in Phelps County, near Atlanta, the youngest of five children born to Dothan Pritchard and Dollie (Read) Fulk. She received her primary education from a country school across the road from the family farm, and then graduated from Mascot High School with the class of 1946.

On May 23, 1948, she was united in marriage to Margle Lemoyne Rager, and to this union three children were born: Robert, Marsha and Alan. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Margle was employed by K-N Energy, and Susie devoted her life to being a homemaker, and raising their children. In her younger years, she enjoyed serving as a Boy Scout leader, and being involved in the kid's activities. After the children were grown, Susie was a sales clerk for her brother at Bub's Bottles in Holdrege for eighteen years, until her retirement in 1991. On October 13, 1989, she was preceded in death by her husband, Margle.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holdrege, where she taught Sunday school in the years past. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, and loved spending time with her family. Her laugh will be missed by all who knew her!

Besides her parents, and husband, Margle; Susie was preceded in death by her three sisters: Dwyla Schlem and her husband, Ward; Clyda Johnson and her husband, Melvin; and Clella Bowen and her husband, Robert; one brother, Dwayne (Bub) Fulk and his wife, Norma; and brother-in-law, Clint Rager and his wife, Dorothy.

She leaves to celebrate her life; her two sons: Bob Rager and his wife, Beth, and Alan Rager and his wife, Diane all of Holdrege; her daughter, Marsha Riley and her husband, Dr. Ernie Riley of Smyrna, Georgia; six grandchildren: Jeff Rager of Holdrege; Scott Rager of New York; Nicole Rager of Lincoln, Nebraska; Chris Rager and his wife, Trenna of Holdrege; Amy Levy and her husband, Court of New York; and Erin Riley and his wife, Tabitha of Alpharetta, Georgia;11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marilyn Redding and her husband, Jim of Aberdeen, Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Susie's honor, and kindly suggested to the Industry Cemetery or to the Holdrege Memorial Homes.
