Graveside Services for Elizabeth M. "Betty" Kermmoade will be conducted from the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford, Nebraska on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Linda Knipping-Potts, officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery.
Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Kermmoade, 73 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska (formerly of Oxford), passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma. Betty was born October 5, 1939 at Lincoln, Nebraska, the second of six children born to Leonard and Margaret (Shantelwise) Ables. She received her education from Lincoln, Nebraska, where she graduated high school.
On June 11, 1966 she was united in marriage to Floyd Norman Kermmoade, Jr. and to this union four children were born: Rose, Deb, Mike and Norm. The family made their home in Lincoln, until relocating to Oxford, where Betty was employed by the Oxford Café, and the Oxford Housing Authority. On May 28, 2008, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd.
Betty's life was always
centered on her family; she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies were knitting, cooking, crossword puzzles, and most of all watching her Soap Operas and the Wheel-Of-Fortune on TV.
Besides her husband, Floyd, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Samantha Morter and five brothers-in-law: Albert, Bill, Tom, and Elige Kermmoade and George Zappas.
She leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters: Rose Morter of Schuyler, Nebraska and Deb Kermmoade of Odessa, Nebraska; two sons: Mike Kermmoade of Phillipsburg, Kansas and Norm Kermmoade and his wife, Laurie of Orleans, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ed Poole and his wife, Paula of Michigan, Frank Ables of Columbus, Nebraska; three sisters: Mary Vannatta and her husband, Pete of Hay Springs, Nebraska, Trudy House and her husband, Terry of Hastings, Nebraska and Kay Phillips and her husband, Roy of Alma; four sisters-in-law: Liz Kermmoade of Littleton, Colorado, Virginia Kermmoade of Sheridan, Colorado, Val Kermmoade of Englewood, Colorado, Waunetta Zappas of Littleton, Colorado; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 19th, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford.
A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
