Emily Jo (Carranza) Aldinger, 74, of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of Wilcox, left her earthly body and entered peacefully into the presence of Christ on Monday, September 21, 2026, surrounded by her family that she loved so dearly.
Emily was born in Kearney, Nebraska on June 26, 1952, the oldest of five children to Jose “Joe” and Emma (Garcia) Carranza. She was raised in Kearney and received her education through Kearney Public Schools, graduating from Kearney High School with the class of 1970. Throughout her school years and beyond, Emily was a social butterfly who formed cherished friendships and created lasting memories.
Emily continued her education at Kearney State College, where she pursued a degree in Psychology. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband Arlynn G. Aldinger on February 15, 1976, and together they recently celebrated fifty years of marriage. Emily and Arlynn made their home in Wilcox, where they began their life together, built a family, and created a home and farm filled with love and cherished memories.
Their marriage was blessed with six precious children: January, Brianne, twins Shaina and Seth, Andrew, and Victoria.
Emily devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She was a loving wife and mother who embraced the busy, beautiful life that came with taking care of her husband and raising six children. She cared for her family with a generous heart and deep love. Her children and grandchildren were a source of immeasurable joy, and some of her most meaningful memories were found in the simple moments of being together.
Emily, throughout her life, remained steadfast in her unwavering faith in Christ and shared her love for Christ with everyone she met. Over the years, she dedicated herself to serving as a Sunday School teacher and actively participated in various church ministries and Bible study groups. Most recently she attended Kearney Evangelical Free Church where she found fellowship and encouragement through her faith and church family.
Emily was proceeded in death by her parents, Jose “Joe” and Emma Carranza; her in-laws, Walter and Leona Aldinger; and her sister, Nancy Hermanson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Arlynn; their children, January Aldinger; Brianne Egle and her husband, Donald; Shaina Johnson and her husband, Jeffrey; Seth Aldinger; Andrew Aldinger; and Victoria Tomlin and her husband, Matthew; four grandchildren, Harrison Egle; Micah Johnson and his fiancée, Katelyn Bunger; Allegra Johnson; and Faith Johnson; her siblings, Joe and Judy Carranza, Judy and Steve Grimsley, and Margie and Ron Clang; brother-in-law Lloyd Hermanson; sister-in-law Cynthia and Thomas Enstrom; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many cherished friends.
A service for family and friends to honor Emily will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, with Pastor Tim Peterson officiating.
A memorial has been established in Emily’s honor to Yanney Heritage Park. Emily and Arlynn enjoyed many walks together there, surrounded by the natural beauty of the park and gardens—a place that held special memories for them.
