Memorial Graveside Services for Esther R. Eaton will be conducted from the Highland Cemetery at Bertrand, Nebraska on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Glenn Frecks, officiating.
Esther Ruth Eaton, 82 years of age, of Franklin, Nebraska (formerly of Bertrand) passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Golden Age Village in Franklin. Esther was born December 8, 1925 at Butler, Indiana, one of four children to the Eaton family.
Following her education, she was united in marriage to Raymond G. Dyer and they made their home in Gering, Nebraska on a farm until moving to Bertrand in 1950's. Esther enjoyed life as a farmwife and homemaker. Through the years, Esther was employed in housekeeping, worked as a waitress and also spent some time as a clerk in a movie theatre.
While in Bertrand, Esther was a faithful member of the Faith Free Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed on April 4, 2004. She loved to go for walks, watch TV, enjoyed volunteering her time with activities at the Bertrand Nursing Home and spending time with her friends.
In December of 2004 she became a resident of the Golden Age Village in Franklin, where she resided until her passing.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Eugene Eaton and his wife, Marcia of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother, Robert Marbel of California; nephew, Rod Reckard and his wife, Janet of Sheridan, Wyoming; other relatives and friends. Esther was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
There will be no visitation, the family is honoring her wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in her memory and suggested to the family.
