Funeral Services for Esther V. Huss will be conducted on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with the Reverend Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Esther Viola Huss, 87 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. Esther was born June 7, 1923 in Escalon, California to Clifford and Mary (Erickson) Peterson. She graduated from Holdrege High School in 1941.

On February 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to Warren V. Huss in Holdrege and to this union, two daughters were born: Kathy and Jane. Warren passed away in 1954.

Esther lived in Holdrege most of her life, working at Holdrege Public Schools and Tri County Irrigation.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, BPO Does, and Eastern Star.

Besides her parents and husband, Warren, Esther was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Van Horn; and her sister and brother-in-law: Ruth and Kenny Exstrom.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter: Kathy Warriner and her husband, Earl of Hastings, Nebraska; step-daughter: Bettie Kirkpatrick of Broken Bow; grandchildren: Debbie Damrow of Hastings, Scott Damrow and his wife, Traci of Omaha, Nebraska, Christin Nance of Grand Island, Michael Van Horn and his wife, Christine of Omaha;; great-grandchildren: Simon Damrow of Omaha, Nebraska and Hunter Nance of Grand Island, Nebraska; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
