Funeral Services for Eula E. Jackson will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Cathi Braasch, officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery at Bertrand.

Eula Evangeline Jackson, 92 years of age, of Bertrand, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Tri-County Hospital in Lexington, Nebraska. She was born July 28, 1914 at Bertrand, the eldest of six children of Charles and Hulda (Johnson) Duff. She received her education at Bertrand.

Following her education, Eula was united in marriage to LaMont L. Jackson and to this union five children were born: Charles, Barbara, Rose, Mary and Randall. The couple made their home in Kingsburg, California until returning to Bertrand in 1939. Eula focused her efforts on raising their children and also provided childcare. Later, Eula worked as a nurse's aide at Marie Larson's Care home and then at the Bertrand Nursing Home until her retirement. On October 22, 1964 she was preceded in death by her husband, LaMont.

In her earlier years she enjoyed dancing, Eula also loved to read and spend time with her family.

She leaves to mourn her passing her two sons: Charles Jackson and his wife, Eloise of Montgomery, Alabama and Randy Jackson of Bertrand; two daughters: Rosie Bischoff and her husband, John of Lexington and Mary Bathke and her husband, Jerry of York, Nebraska; son-in-law, Al Blocher of Lexington; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Barbara Blocher; three brothers: Charles, Curtis and Carrol Duff; and two sisters: Erma Lemon and Elva Shaughnessy.

Mrs. Jackson will lie in state at the Sandstrom Funeral Home in Bertrand on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
