A Mass of Christian Burial for Floyd M. "Bub" Schippert will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alma, Nebraska with Fathers Maurice Current and John Birkel officiating. Interment will follow at the Alma Cemetery in Alma with Military Honors provided by the Fay Cady Post # 118 of the American Legion in conjunction with the United States Navy Funeral Honors Team.

Floyd Merle "Bub" Schippert, 84 years of age, of Alma, passed away, on January 28, 2022, at the CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Bub was born on the farm North of Republican City, Nebraska on December 28, 1937, the youngest of two boys, born to Heinrich Albert and Inez Ruth (Ellrod) Schippert. He received his primary education from the Country School and later attended and graduated from Alma High School, with the class of 1955.
Following his education, Bub enlisted into the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor.
On June 25, 1960, Bub was united in marriage to Nancy Dobberstein at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alma and to this union four children were born: Mark, Kelly, Aliese and her twin sister Kristi. The couple made their home in Alma. Bub started working for Don's Conoco and later purchased the station and named it Bub's Conoco. After a few years he sold the Conoco station and started working as the County Assessor for over 32 years where he was the District President and State President.
Bub was active with the Fire Department and EMT Crew for over 25 years. He was a member of Rotary and the Jaycees where he held multiple positions in both clubs. Bub was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alma.
He enjoyed golfing, kayaking, fishing, boating and camping. Together the couple went on long drives around the lake to enjoy the sunset. They enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona every year, it was something Bub always looked forward to.
Bub was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Kristi; his brother, Don Schippert.
Bub is survived by his wife, Nancy of Alma; three children: Mark Schippert and his wife, Trish of Minden, Nebraska; Kelly Schippert and her partner, Kim Robinson of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Aliese Bowman of Alma; seven grandchildren: Brandon Bell and his wife, Jackilyn; Mark Schippert; Samantha Weiss and her husband, Stephen; Jessica Keeten and her husband, Blake; Nicholas Schippert and his wife, Brittany; Richard Parton; Kathleen Hamilton and her husband, Randy; 12 great-grandchildren brother-in-law: Richard Dobberstein and his wife, Myra; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.
A memorial has been established in Bub's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
