Frances Geraldine "Terri" Settlemire, 69 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska after battling cancer for several years.
Terri was born on July 10, 1943 in Los Angles, California, the eldest of four daughters born to Frank and Esther (Perez) Pacheco. She received her education in California, graduating from Camarillo High School with the class of 1961.
On July 14, 1961 she was united in marriage to Mickey Dean Settlemire Sr. and the couple were blessed with three sons: Mickey Jr., Michael and John. Terri spent most of her life in California and relocated to Nebraska in 2004 to help care for her sister, Becki.
Terri will be remembered as a beautiful person who held a soft spot in her heart for animals. She enjoyed caring for her two feline companions. She also enjoyed collecting unique items. One of her favorite collections was an extensive Coca-Cola memorabilia collection.
Besides her parents, Terri was preceded in death by two sisters: Rosemary Rosenquist and Becki Louthan.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her three sons: Mickey Settlemire, Jr. of Douglas City, California, Michael Settlemire and his wife, Tami of Unionville, Tennessee, John Settlemire of Fillmore, California; five grandchildren: Cord, Teal, Casey, Cody and Jacob; one half-sister, Jovie Cosen and her husband, Mike of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation as the family is honoring her wish for cremation.
Private family graveside services will be held at the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, California beside her mother.
A memorial has been established and will be designated at a later date.
