Frank Bishop Tanner, Jr., 77 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away, on May 15, 2024, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Frank was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on March 26, 1947, the oldest of five children, born to Frank Bishop Sr. and Barbara (Wilber) Tanner. He received his education and graduated high school in New York.

In 1964, Frank was united in marriage to Marilyn Sawyer in Topeka, Kansas, and to this union, three children were born: Frank III, Richard, and Shelby. On November 12, 1964, Frank enlisted into the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on October 11, 1968. When Frank returned from the Air Force the couple made their home in Topeka where they enjoyed square dancing. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Frank enjoyed watching TV, riding his motorcycle and tractor, helping John with yard work, and playing cards. He was very witty and always had a comeback for anything you threw his way. He loved animals, always having dogs and cats of his own and while living in Arizona he had a potbelly pig rescue.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Susan Goss; two brothers: Matthew Tanner; and Douglas Tanner.

He is survived by his three children: Frank Tanner, III of Phoenix, Arizona; Richard Tanner and his wife, Heidi of Goodyear, Arizona; and Shelby Wagner and her husband, John of Holdrege; five grandchildren: Lacey Tanner of Phoenix; Rebecca Scott and her husband, Seth of Goodyear; Cody Murawski of Alexandria, Virginia; Johnathan Wagner Jr. of Kearney, Nebraska; Nicole Blue and her husband, Richard of Adams, Nebraska; a host of great-grandchildren: two brothers: Dale Tanner and his wife Angele; and Paul Tanner; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
