Memorial Services for Fred C. Burns will be conducted from the First Baptist Church of Oxford, Nebraska, on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Hunt, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Oxford Cemetery.
Fred Charles Burns, 66 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Harlan County Health Systems in Alma, Nebraska. He was born on November 17, 1939, in Oxford, Nebraska the youngest of 2 children born to Robert Earl and Helen (Haslem) Burns. The family made their home in Wichita, Kansas for many years until their return to Oxford in 1971. Fred was employed by Mid Nebraska Individual Services and enjoyed Christmas decorations, which he kept up all year long, cats, and loved his model train set which is now at the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island, Nebraska.
He leaves to mourn his passing his sister, Georgia Dove of Aurora, Colorado; nieces: Janette Guscott, and her husband David; Beth Rambo, also of Aurora; nephew Jeffery Dove of Aurora; and two great-nephews: Cameron and Christopher Rambo, also of Aurora, Colorado and other relatives and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, George and Edna Fritzer.
There will not be a visitation, the family has chosen cremation. Memorials are suggested to Mid Nebraska Individual Services.
