Gale Wayne Berry

Funeral Services for Gale W. Berry will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Wilcox, Nebraska with Pastor Craig Cedar officiating.  Following the traditional funeral service, cremation will take place and a private burial will be held at a later date.

Gale Wayne Berry, 58 years of age, of Wilcox, formerly of Kearney, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Harlan County Health System in Alma, Nebraska as the result of a single car motor vehicle accident.  Gale was born January 26, 1960 in Kearney the eldest of four children born to Otis B. and Virginia L. (Metcalf) Berry.  He attended Kearney Public School and graduated Elm Creek High School, with the class of 1979.

On April 15, 1995, Gale was united in marriage to Julie Ann Swartz in Ogallala, Nebraska.  Together they raised three children.  The family made their home in Kearney, where Gale worked as a loader operator for Deweese Sand and Gravel.

In his younger years, Gale enjoyed riding his motor cycle; and also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with his family.

Gale was preceded in death by; his parents; and aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his; wife, Julie A. Berry of Wilcox; three daughters, Jessica McGee and her significant other, Shaun Rice of Rapid City, South Dakota; Kelly Anderson and her husband, Dustin of Fairbury, Nebraska; and Casey Berry of Kearney; son, Dillon Berry of Wilcox; four grandchildren:  Alura, Alec, Sadiee and Bubba; brother, Jack Berry and his wife, Terri of Kearney; two sisters:  Janet Gallentine and her husband, Rob of Ogallala, Nebraska; Sharon Smith of Lincoln, Nebraska; along with extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Wilcox with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Gale's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
