Funeral Graveside Services for Gary L. Miller will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Dale Hedstrom officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Oxford American Legion Post #219 in conjunction with the United States Army Military Honors Team.

Gary Lee Miller, 72 years of age, of Denver, Colorado (formerly of Oxford) passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Julia Temple Healthcare Center in Englewood, Colorado.  Gary was born June 4, 1943 in Oxford, the eldest of two sons born to Alvah Lane "Pete" and Eunice Elsa (Beck) Miller.  He received his education from Oxford Public Schools, graduating with the Oxford High School class of 1961.

In 1964, Gary was united in marriage to Vivian Lonn and they made their home in Holdrege, Nebraska. The couple later divorced.

Gary was inducted into the United States Army on January 23, 1966 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He served as a heavy equipment mechanic until his honorable discharge. He then served in the Army National Guard Reserves until 1972. Following his duty in the Reserves, Gary's talent as a heavy equipment mechanic led to many jobs in Nebraska, Montana and lately, in Colorado, working for the City and County of Denver.

He was a member of the Colorado American Legion Post #0001. Gary loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and shooting.

Besides his parents; Gary was preceded in death by a nephew, Chad Miller; two uncles: Ronald Beck and his wife, Malinda and Harold Beck; and three cousins: Keith Beck in infancy, Lorna Beck and Kent Beck.

Gary leaves to mourn his passing; his brother, Glenn Miller and his wife, Janice of Castle Rock, Colorado; niece, Renee Bracamonte and her husband, Rudy of Phoenix, Arizona; nephew, Brett Miller and his wife, Lisa of Castle Rock; great-niece, Ella Miller; great-nephew, Rudolph Bracamonte III; aunt, Barb Beck of Holdrege; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

There will be no public visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Wounded Warrior Project in Gary's honor.
