A Memorial Service for Gary L. Schriner will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Kenton Birtell officiating.

Gary Lynn Schriner, 69 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away, on November 18, 2021, at his home in Holdrege.  Gary was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska on May 29, 1952, the oldest of five children, born to Chester and Norma (Batez) Schriner.  He spent his younger years in the Red Cloud/Riverton area, where he spent time with his cousins, family and friends riding horses, fishing and farming. In 1971 Gary graduated from Lexington High School.

On December 3, 1975, Gary was united in marriage to Trixie Hewett and to this union two children were born: Travis and Amber. The family lived in South Central Nebraska where Gary worked as an over the road truck driver.

Gary will be remembered most for his true passion, his love of music.  He was a very talented musician and played several instruments but his favorite was the lead guitar. Gary was a member of several bands traveling up and down the road sharing his musical talent with others. He loved entertaining and being in front of a crowd.

He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege.

Gary was preceded in death by, his father Chester Schriner.

Gary is survived by his children: Travis Schriner of Holdrege; and Amber Reha and her husband, Jon of Ragan, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Yuliana Urbina; Austin Schriner; Dylan Reha; Mariah Schriner; Adalee Schriner; Shelly Hernandez and her husband, Adam; Elise Johnson-Schriner; one great-grandson, Jayce Hernandez; his mother, Norma Schriner; four siblings: Duane; Tammy; Rhonda; and Marlin; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation or memorial book signing, the family is honoring his wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Gary's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
