Funeral Services for Genevieve V. Anderson will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Dr. Cathi Braasch STS, grandson, Pastor Chad Anderson and Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. Burial will follow at the Moses Hill Cemetery in rural Phelps County, Nebraska.
Genevieve Virginia Anderson, 98 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Christian Homes Care Community. Genevieve was born August 21, 1918 at Elm Creek Nebraska the second of three children born to John and Floy (Lamson) Daul. She received her primary education in Elm Creek and graduated from Elm Creek High School with the class of 1935. She then attended college for one year at Kearney State College and one year at Hastings State College where she received her teaching certificate.
Genevieve taught school at a rural school district north of Sumner, Nebraska for one year, then at a Phelps County rural school district for two years and then at Huntley Public Schools for one year. After her marriage, she enjoyed substitute teaching in Phelps County when called upon.
On March 26, 1944, Genevieve was united in marriage to Clinton C. Anderson and to this union four children were born: Ruth, Eddie, Fritz and Dan. The couple made their home on the Anderson family farm in rural Phelps County, northwest of Holdrege. Clinton passed away on November 2, 1990.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and farm wife. Genevieve loved music, playing the piano and taught piano lessons to students for many years.
She was a long time member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the Women's Circles, the church council and numerous other activities.
Besides her parents and husband, Clinton, she was preceded in death by; her sister, Dorothy Jackson and husband, Bob; her brother, Louis Daul and wife, Rilda; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Anderson in 1991.
Genevieve leaves to mourn her passing; her four children and their families: daughter, Ruthie (Tom) Brown of Boulder, Colorado; grandson, Kevin (Alison) Brown of Scottsdale, Arizona; great-grandchildren: Brittany and Kyle; grandson, Greg (Connie) Brown of Elkhorn, Nebraska; great-grandchildren: Emma Kate, Benjamin and Nathan; granddaughter, Kristen (Alan) Lovin of Columbia, Missouri; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Teagan and Conner; sons: Eddie (Marlys) Anderson of rural Loomis; grandson, Kelly (Carolyn) Anderson of Loomis; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Camry, Kari and Kaydee; grandson, Cory (Theresa) Anderson of Gretna, Nebraska; granddaughter, Mindy (Nathan) Anderson-Knott of Seward, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Kalen, Edison and Jace; Fritz (Kathy) Anderson of Grand Island, Nebraska; granddaughter, Heather (Andy) Lange of Waverly, Nebraska; great-grandchildren: Grace and Ella; grandson, Chad (Deborah) Anderson of Kearney, Nebraska; great-grandchildren: Barnabas and Stephen; and Dan Anderson of Gothenburg, Nebraska; granddaughter, Kim of Loomis; granddaughter, Debbie Ashmore (Taylor) of Omaha, Nebraska; grandson, Jeff (Jessie) Anderson Fairborn, Ohio; great-granddaughter, Avery; a dear cousin, Lois Bergman of Holdrege; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Genevieve's honor and kindly suggested the Loomis Public School to be designated specifically toward music.
