Genevieve J. "Gen" Kuck, 82 years of age, of rural Gosper county, Nebraska (formerly of Pablo, Montana), passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. Gen was born October 16, 1932 in rural Red Willow County, Nebraska, the second of five children born to Walter and Lucille (Wagner) Weber. She received her primary education in Trenton, Nebraska and graduated from McCook High School in McCook, Nebraska, with the class of 1949. Following high school, she pursued higher education at Kearney State College and while there, met the love of her life, Bruce Kuck.
On August 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Bruce Darryl Kuck in McCook and to this union four children were born: Rose, Pamela, Bruce, Jr. and Cindy. The family made their home on a farm in Gosper County, where they engaged in farming. Gen focused her efforts on raising their children, but could also be found working side-by-side with Bruce on the farm, doing whatever job was needed. She also was a Tupperware sales representative for many years. In 1974, the family relocated to the Valley View area near Polson, Montana, where the couple ranched for many years. Bruce preceded Gen in death on December 26, 2011 and Gen then moved back to Gosper County to be near her children. In June of 2015, she began to make her home at the Elwood Care Center in Elwood, Nebraska.
Gen enjoyed quilting, baking, cooking, sewing, crossword puzzles, and especially visits from her family, friends and neighbors. She also had a passion for tending to her garden and then, after harvesting her crops, enjoyed canning. She was a member of the Valley View Women's Club in Montana for many years where many friendship bonds were formed.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: son-in-law, Bob Fouts; sister-in-law, Jaunita Weber; brothers-in-law: Paul Cotton and Bill Elley; and nephews, Tim Elley, Ronald Kuck and Donald Kuck.
Gen leaves to mourn her passing; her children: Rose Fouts of Eaton, Colorado, Pamela Campbell and her husband, Ken of Smithfield, Nebraska, Bruce, Jr. "Chip" and his wife, Kristi of Bertrand, Nebraska and Cindy March and her husband, Jeff of Laramie, Wyoming; seven grandchildren: Shane Kuck, Bethany Walker and her husband, Dan, Jarrod Fouts, Cody Kuck, Clayton March, Benjamin March, Chad March and his wife, Betty; two great-grandchildren: Charlotte Walker and Holden Copeland; two brothers: Leroy Weber and his wife, Henrietta of Washington and Larry Weber and his wife, Suzan of Denver, Colorado; two sisters: Sherry Cotton of McCook, Nebraska and Jean Elley of Alabama; sister-in-law, Lola Davidson and her husband, Mark of Smithfield; brother-in-law, Alfred Kuck and his wife, Marie of Smithfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation as the family is honoring Gen's wish for cremation.
