George E. Dreessen

A Celebration of Life for George E. Dreessen will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Alma Country Club in Alma, Nebraska with Mr. Gary Janssen officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Fay Cady American Legion Post #118 in conjunction with the United States Air Force Funeral Honors Team.

George Edward Dreessen, 76 years of age, of Alma, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska. George was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 28, 1948, the second of four children, born to Carl and Leona (Bernard) Dreessen.  He received his education from Manuel High School in Kansas City.

Following his education, George enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for many years. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Alma, dedicating himself to his work at Tripe Motor Co. where he was a dependable part of the team, known for his steady presence.

George was a fantastic bowler and a die-hard motorcycle enthusiast. He especially looked forward to his annual rides to Sturgis with his friends - something he planned for all year and talked about even longer.

George lived life simply and on his own terms. He valued the familiar, the routine, and the people he trusted most. He was the kind of friend who'd show up when you needed a hand.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his siblings: Henry Dreessen and his wife, Vilma of the Philippines; Janet F. Rockey of Phillipsburg, Kansas; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family is honoring George's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in George's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.

Expressions of caring and kindness can be sent to the family at www.nelsonbauerfh.com
