Private family graveside services for George G. Nelson will be conducted from the Moses Hill Cemetery in Phelps County, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Moses Hill Cemetery.

George Gustaf Nelson, 48 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand, Nebraska. George was born December 26, 1959 at Flint, Michigan, the only child of Paul N. and Dorothea E. (Allen) Nelson. George received his primary education from Evanston, Illinois and then graduated from Stephen T. Mather High School in Chicago, Illinois. He then pursued higher education at the University of Chicago, graduating with his Bachelor's Degree in 1981. Following his college graduation, George was accepted into the University of Chicago-Law School graduating in 1984 with his Law Degree. Honor degrees were achieved. In 1984, George passed his Bar Exam and was employed by Shey and Gould Law Firm in New York City, New York.

In May of 1996, George and his mother moved to Holdrege, Nebraska. George was an avid reader and enjoyed spending many hours at the public library wherever he resided.

He leaves to mourn his passing his parents: Paul and Dorothea Nelson of Holdrege; uncle, John G. Nelson of Loomis, Nebraska and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his grandparents; two aunts: Ruth Hectman and Dorothy Gambina and cousin, Daniel R. Nelson.

There will be no visitation, the family his honoring George's wish for cremation.
