Funeral Services for Georgia M. Ludeke will be conducted on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Vicar B.J. Fouts and Reverend David Otten, officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery.

Georgia Mae Ludeke, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska (formerly of Oxford, Nebraska) passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. Georgia was born July 31, 1914 on the family farm in Harlan County near Atlanta, Nebraska, the third of eight children of Oscar E. and Bessie Maude (Shield) Eman. She received her education from Oxford Public Schools.

Following her education, Georgia was united in marriage to Otto Fritz John Ludeke on December 1, 1932 at Oxford and to this union ten children were born: Charlene, Janis, Ronald, Sharon, Karen, Diana, Lana, Carla, Steven and Rodney Kim. The family made their home in Mascot and Oxford area, where Georgia focused her efforts on raising their children. Through the years, she also was employed by the Blincow and the Oxford Café's in Oxford and worked as a nurses aide at Walker Post Manor in Oxford and the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska. Georgia enjoyed all the friendship bonds formed at the Golden Generation Senior Center in Oxford, where she was a Green Thumb worker. On March 5, 1971 she was preceded in death by her husband, Otto. Georgia continued to reside in Oxford until her failing health and became a resident of Holdrege Memorial Homes in March of 2006.

She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford, active with the Silver Threads Card Club, involved at the Golden Generation Senior Center, enjoyed embroidery, playing cards, loved to watch sports on TV and was an avid Husker fan.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Janis Einspahr and her husband, Virgil of Orleans, Nebraska, Ron Ludeke and his wife, Sharon of Oxford, Sharon Jones of Oxford, Karen Ludeke of Oxford, Lana Jean Nitchie and her husband, Ron of Denver, Colorado, Steve Ludeke of Lincoln, Nebraska and Rodney Kim Ludeke and his wife, Patti of Gibbon, Nebraska; twenty-seven grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Evelyn Braddock of California, Velma Smith of Arapahoe, Nebraska and Donna Smith of California; sister-in-law, Virginia Eman of Oxford; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Otto she was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters: Diana and Carla in infancy and Charlene Farwell; two sons-in-law: Gayle Farwell and Jinx Jones; three brothers: Marian Eman in infancy, Harley Eman and his wife, Leora and Carl Eman; sister, Thelma Eman in infancy and three brothers-in-law: Walter Braddock, Lee Smith and John Smith.

Mrs. Ludeke will lie in state at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford on Sunday, June 24, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
