Geraldine Luella Christensen, 83 years of age of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Bryan LGH-East Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. Geraldine was born in Galveston, Texas, February 2, 1925 to Herman and Beth (Andrews) Perkins. Her family soon moved to Beaver City, NE, where her father farmed, and operated a dairy. She graduated from Beaver City High School in 1943. Geraldine married Paul T. Christensen in December of 1943. They owned and operated Christensen Truck Line, and later Speedway Transportation, in Holdrege. Geraldine and Paul Christensen had four children, Rogene, Jerry, Karla and Brent. Geraldine's greatest joy was to interact with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She rarely missed a ball game, recital or school program for any of them. She also enjoyed quilting, and made a special quilt for each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. Geraldine was charter member of her church, North Park Assembly of God, in Holdrege, where she taught Sunday School, played the organ, sang in the choir and worked with Women's Ministries, for many years. Geraldine also enjoyed her involvement in Holdrege Christian Women's Club, and served as an officer in many positions. After Paul's death in September of 1998, she lived independently for 9 years. When her health began to fail, she moved to Chrisoma West Assisted Living, where she enjoyed the fellowship and activities offered there. Over the years she truly enjoyed many friendships, and rarely missed an opportunity to share morning coffee with her friends.

Besides her husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her daughter, Rogene Argue; parents, Herman and Beth Perkins and one brother, Sylvester Perkins.

She is survived by son, Jerry and wife Roberta, of Lincoln, NE; daughter, Karla and husband Mark Blevins, of Omaha, NE; son, Brent and wife Connie, of Kearney, NE; son-in-law, David Argue and his wife, Jackie of Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren: Camilla LaForge and husband, Paul, Salt Lake City, UT, Brad Argue and wife, Amy, Durham, NC, Eric Christensen and wife, Tiffany, Kearney, NE, Erin Honnens and husband, David, Lincoln, NE, Cheri Blevins, Memphis, TN, Candis Newland and husband, Jay, Omaha, NE, Corinne Fulmer and husband, Paul, Holdrege, NE and Madison Christensen, Kearney, NE, and 12 great-grandchildren, Rachel, Evan, Michela, Susanna, Bennett, Jamin, Brayton, Brinly, Ellynne, Bryant, MaKenna, and Jackson; one brother, Darel Perkins and his wife, Mary of Inver Grove Heights, MN; sisters-in-law, Effie Champlin of Derby, KS and Margaret Perkins of Idaho and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
