Funeral Services for Geraldine Ann "Geri" Krauss will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dale Lambert officiating. Interment will be in the Cedarview Cemetery at Doniphan, Nebraska on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Prior to the services the family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Geraldine Ann "Geri" Krauss, 69 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Geri was born June 4, 1943 at Seattle, Washington, the second of four children born to Cecil and Gladys (Herring) Krauss. When Geri was two years of age, the family relocated to Cambridge, Nebraska. She began her education at Cambridge Public Schools and in the years to come she became a resident of Mid-Nebraska Individual Services, Bethphage Mission and most recently part of the Mosaic family. Geri made her home in Holdrege for approximately 35 years.
She enjoyed working at the Mosaic Woodshop and the Corner Nugget. Her hobbies were music, putting together puzzles, crocheting, and loved playing Bingo. She also had a special place in her heart for animals. Despite all the challenges in her life, Geri always remained very positive and her smile warmed everyone's heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Gladys Krauss and grandparents, Fred and Tadie Krauss.
She leaves to mourn her passing; a sister, Dar McBee and her husband, Robert; two brothers: Don Krauss and his wife, Connie, and Ron Krauss and his wife, Vada all of Grand Island, Nebraska; one aunt, June Frank of Cambridge; a special friend, Bruce Johnson of Holdrege and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in her memory and kindly suggested to Mosaic of Holdrege.
