Glen Harlan Schoneberg, 93 years of age, of Orleans, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma, Nebraska. Glen was born on April 15, 1918 in Huntley, Nebraska, the youngest of seven children of George Henry and Mary Louise (Haeker) Schoneberg. He received his education in Huntley.

Glen served his country during WW II until his honorable discharge on December 8, 1943. Following his discharge he moved south of Orleans, where he engaged in farming, raised livestock and broke quarter horses. Later in years, the couple celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary by renewing their vows at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orleans.

Glen retired in 1994, at which time he and Millie moved into Orleans. Retirement allowed him to spend more time playing bridge and spending time with friends and family. He was long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and also a member of the Harold Morin American Legion Post #184 in Orleans for over 60 years and was a past member of the Quarter Master Remount at Ft. Robinson, Nebraska.

Besides his parents, Glen was preceded in death by four brothers: Ben and his wife, Vera, John and his wife, Audrey, William "Bill" and his wife, Ruby, and Richard Schoneberg; and two sisters: Millie Eckel and her husband, John and Alvina James and her husband, Harold.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 65 years, Millie of Orleans; son, Ronald Schoneberg and his wife, D'Maris of Arapahoe, Nebraska; two daughters: Sandra McManus and her husband, Larry of Edgewood, Washington and Bonnie Phinney and her husband, Duane of Hoodsport, Washington; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and a host of other relatives and friends.
