Glenna Glee Johnston, 89 years of age, of Holdrege, formerly of Bloomington, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Glenna was born on February 17, 1932, in Holdrege, the only child to Lawrence and Francis (Garrabrant) Jinings. By the time Glenna was 10 years old, both of her parents were deceased, so she was raised by her maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Maud Garrabrant. She received her education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1950.

On August 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Neil John Edward Johnston and together they were blessed with five children: Lawrence "Butch", Peggy, Teresa, Tami and Daniel. The family made their home in the Loomis and Atlanta areas, where she focused on raising the children. Glenna was also employed with Becton-Dickinson in the molding department. In October of 1983, Neil unexpectedly passed away. She moved to Bloomington, Nebraska, until she began to make her home at Holdrege Memorial Homes.

Glenna was a gifted artist and talented seamstress. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid hunter with Neil. She was a devoted wife and mother, and above all, the best grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved big family get-togethers and always attended as many of her family's activities and events as she possibly could. Her spitfire personality and contagious laugh will be dearly missed.

Besides her parents and grandparents; Glenna was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Booe; two daughters-in-law: Ginger Johnston; and Ruthie Johnston; a grandson, Joseph Koerperich; one granddaughter, Tiffany Johnston; a brother-in-law, Lyle Johnston; and three sisters-in-law: Lois Garcia; Jean Jakob; and Faye Maaske.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her children: Larry "Butch" Johnston and his wife, Karen of Loomis; Teresa Johnston, of Lincoln, Nebraska; Tami Rademaker and her husband, Wes of Holdrege; and Danny Johnston of Holdrege; son-in-law, Tom Booe of Loomis; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; brothers-in-law: Raye Johnston and his wife, Betty of Loomis; Dave Jakob of Grand Island, Nebraska; and Darrel Maaske and his wife, Janice of Kearney, Nebraska;  many cousins, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Glenna's honor and kindly suggested to the ALS Association or to Autism Society of America. ( http://www.alsa.org/donate/giving/gifts-in-tribute.html or https://www.autism-society.org/get-involved/donate/ )
