Funeral Services for Gregory L. Beaudette will be conducted from the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating. Following the traditional funeral, cremation will take place and the family will have a private family inurnment at a later date.
Gregory Lee Beaudette, 56 years of age of Holdrege passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Greg was born March 12, 1955 at Sioux City, Iowa, the eldest of seven children born to Vonnie and Donna (Scott) Beaudette. Greg received his primary education at Scribner, Nebraska and then high school at Norfolk Catholic in Norfolk, Nebraska. The Beaudette family then moved to Holdrege, where he graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1973.
In 1973, Greg was united in marriage to Michaele Piska and from this union two daughters were born: Sheila and Shelly. Following his education, Greg farmed for Kenton Peterson, drove truck and worked in shops for CTC in Norfolk, Riteway in Holdrege and South Central Diesel in Holdrege before he started Beaudette Customs Body Shop in 1987.
On January 23, 1996 he was united in marriage to his best friend, Vivian Richardson.
Greg was very talented, creative and artistic. He enjoyed boating, motorcycling, collecting guns and swords, NASCAR, Husker football and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott and his father-in-law, Harold Schmidt.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Vivian of Holdrege; two daughters: Sheila Beaudette of Lincoln, Nebraska and Shelly Strickland and her husband, Frank of Holdrege; two grandchildren: Brett and Tayleigh Strickland; step-son, Derek Richardson of Omaha, Nebraska; his parents: Vonnie and Donna Beaudette of Holdrege; three brothers: Dan Beaudette and his wife, Lois of Severville, TN, Jim Beaudette and his wife, Delisa of Holdrege, Dale Beaudette and his wife, Dianne of Gering, Nebraska; two sisters: Susan Heppard and her husband, Noel of Springfield, Missouri, Sharon Kuss and her husband, Dan of Holdrege; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in his memory and will be designated at a later date.
